Our team of dedicated eye health professionals are here to serve you. We combine extensive knowledge in the field of optometry with a passion for helping people solve their vision problems. It is our goal to create a friendly and professional atmosphere that you can rely on for all of your eye health needs.

Larah Alami, OD, FAAO

Dr. Alami received her OD degree from The State University of New York College of Optometry in 2005 and completed her residency in Ocular Disease and Refractive Surgery at TLC Eye Care & Laser Center in 2006. She was awarded the Billie M. Lyons Memorial Award for distinguished service to the college community and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Alami has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Peru, India, Lebanon and Virginia to provide eye care service for underprivileged populations. She is the immediate Past-President of The Rotary Club of the Tarrytowns and a Board member of the Sleepy Hollow Tarrytown Chamber of Commerce. She has been in practice for close to 20 years and specializes in Myopia Control and laser surgery co-management.

Rex Osei, Optician

Rex has been a vital part of HREC since 2015. As a skilled optician, Rex provides patient education regarding lens, materials, products, and designs. Rex performs accurate measurements to ensure seamless patient adjustment. Rex also takes pride in making sure that patients prescriptions are fabricated to meet prescription specifications. Outside of work, Rex enjoys spending time with his family and watching soccer games.

Karen Martinez, Optician

Karen has been in the optical field for over 20 years. She started her craft in Spanish Harlem and upon moving to Elmsford in 2021, has been part of the esteemed optical team at HREC. Referred to as “Momma Manager”, she is also the front desk lead at HREC. Karen prioritizes teamwork and compassion and is always willing to lend a helpful hand. In her free time, Karen loves to spend time with her family, cook and host parties, and enjoy a night out!

Dawn Roy, Optometric Technician

Dawn joined the HREC family in November 2023 as a shadowing student and formally became Dr. Alami’s optometric technician in December 2023. She graduated with a BS in Biology in 2023 and is soon leaving to follow Dr. Alami’s legacy at SUNY Optometry. When she is not working at HREC, she teaches Genetics and Human Biology at Lehman College. In her free time, Dawn loves to spend time with her family and her cat, go shopping, and explore various restaurants and bars in the area.
